Wildlife experts say a viral disease is killing deer across the state.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says an Epizootic Hemorrhagic disease is killing deer along the Platte River.
The deadly disease spreads among deer by the bite of a small insect called a midge.
Infected deer will experience a high fever and internal hemorrhaging before dying.
The commission says the disease is not a threat to humans.
People are encouraged to report any deer deaths, which may be caused by the disease.
