Panhandle children are learning the ABC's of animal care.
Children from Just Us Kids learning center were out at the Scottsbluff county fairgrounds today taking care of 16 young lambs.
The effort is part of a program to give children the opportunity to raise a lamb.
The center purchased the lambs in April to teach children about agriculture and animals.
Daycare owner Kare Heilbrun says the lambs have taught the children about responsibility.
"It has calmed some of their temperaments a little bit with the animals; it's been a really fun experience."
Children at the learning center say they have enjoyed taking care of the lambs.
The lambs will be displayed tomorrow and will be up for sale on Saturday.
