Court date for Minatare man charged with vehicular homicide delayed

A Minatare man charged with vehicular homicide will have to wait a week before making his first appearance in district court.

21-year-old Drew Schmaltz is also charged with driving under the influence.

Last Friday, he lost control of the pickup he was driving and crashed into a field.

Passenger Taylor Magdaleno of gering was ejected from the vehicle and died.

A preliminary hearing scheduled in district court today was postponed until August 10th.
