One KOTA Territory school district works to improve community access with school leaders.
Scottsbluff Public Schools is starting a "district advisory council."
The group will have a diverse variety of people from the community meet on a regular basis and discuss the districts issues.
Superintendent Rick Miles says the advisory council may provide better results than a traditional school board meeting.
"But just by their nature, board meetings, council meetings don't attract a lot of people unless theirs a specific agenda item that catches peoples interest, or something's happening they're really upset about or worried about. This has the potential of being much more proactive."
Anybody interested in joining the council should call the district office before Tuesday night's meeting.
