Several fires near Lake McConaughy in Nebraska are blackening miles of rugged terrain.
Two of the five fires caused by lightening strikes Thursday are still burning near Ogallala.
Keith County Emergency Manager, Pete Peterson, says the Eagle Canyon and Glen Echo fires are still burning but are nearing containment.
One fire fighter was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion but no other injuries have been reported.
No structures have been destroyed.
Officials estimate more than 56-thousand acres have burned.
