City Council looking at utility hike

Posted: Updated:

The Scottsbluff City Council is looking at imposing an increase to resident's utility bills starting next year.

This morning, the council met for their annual budget workshop at city hall.

People living in Scottsbluff may see a small hike in their bi-monthly utility bill. The increase stems from a required project at the city's wastewater facility.

Federal regulations on sludge will force the city to charge a higher fee to meet those standards.
