A grand jury will soon convened to investigate the 2008 unsolved death of a 2-year-old Gering girl.
Scottsbluff County Judge Randy Lippstreu decided to convene a grand jury in the Juliette Geurts case following a petition with more than 1,700 signatures.
The petition was started this year by relatives and others who weren't satisfied with the efforts to find out whether the case was a homicide and who might have killed Juliette.
An autopsy showed Juliette died of blunt-force trauma to the head and abdomen.
No date has been set for the grand jury yet.
