Partnership may help save historical building in Kimball

Posted: Updated:

A new partnership may save a historical building in Kimball.

The Plains Historical Society and the Kimball Community Theater have partnered to put the museum in downtown Kimball to good use.

The old fraternal hall currently houses museum artifacts, but it will soon receive updates and become a home for the community theater.

Immediate restoration plans include a restroom and lighting update.

The plans for the museum will hopefully change the seldom visited historical building into a Kimball hot spot.

"We'd hate to see this building leave Kimball, by bringing a theater group into this building we'll be able to help restore it and get it to where it will last for years to come," explains Drew Enevoldsen, the director of the Melodrama.

Kimball Community Theater plans to have all necessary and immediate updates finished in time to use the stage for their farmer's day melodrama in September.
