Panhandle veterans and active members of the military line up to cash in on grocery savings.
The Defense Commissary Agency out of Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne is in Scottsbluff selling groceries to military members and their families.
The commissary comes to town once a year and sells name brand groceries at cost prices with no mark up.
The program saves military personnel more than 30 percent on their grocery bill.
Commissary Coordinator, Kathy Beatty says, "The commissary is a big benefit for most military families and their members and retirees because they save so much money and with the way the economy is downtown prices are going through the roof but we are still maintaining that 30% savings."
A military ID is required to purchase groceries.
The commissary will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Nebraska National Guard Armory.
