Kimball Mountain Lion killed

Mountain lion is dead after being spotted in a Western Nebraska city near an elementary school.

Nebraska Game and Parks officials killed a cougar spotted in a tree in Kimball.

The 90-pound male was tranquilized, removed it from the tree and euthanized.

A Kimball man located the cat Saturday off U.S. Highway 30 across from Gotte Park a few blocks north of Mary Lynch Elementary.

Kimball Police Chief Mark Simpson says the mountain lion was euthanized because the public was in danger since the animal was inside city limits.
