A U.S. Senator says a slew of government regulations are putting a strain on economic growth.
While on a tour of Nebraska, U.S. Senator Mike Johanns said the state of the economy is a pressing issue.
The Republican says everywhere he goes he hears about the regulatory affect that's coming out of Washington.
Everything from regulations affecting the Environmental Protection Agency to Wall Street is causing red tape, which hinders economic growth.
"So those regulations: the health care bill, Dodd- frank, and on and on; they're just promulgating thousands and thousands of pages," explains Johanns. "And they have a depressing impact on economic growth."
Senator Johanns says on the plus side, work can be done to begin getting the economy back on track.
