Ogallala fire destroys 2 homes, shed, boat and 2 jet skis

A Saturday afternoon fire destroys two homes near Ogallala.

Two homes near Lake McConaughy were destroyed after a grassfire yesterday afternoon burned about 20 acres.

The two homes and a storage building heavily damaged by a wind whipped fire were in the cedar view area.

Keystone Leymoyne Fire Chief Ralph Maul says firefighters were able to contain the blaze but the homes were already on fire when firefighters arrived.

Maul says the two homes were vacation homes.

A boat and two jet skis were also destroyed.
