The Gering City Council took no further action on purchasing a shut-down school building.
The city is trying to purchase the old McKinley School building, but currently the sellers asking price is currently too high.
However, there was confusion amongst council members on whether the issue had been tabled or simply no action had been taken.
Council member Rebecca Shields says that there has been no further progress on the building acquisition.
The council did convene in executive session until approximately 9:15... and scheduled a special council meeting for Thursday at 4 p.m.
There has been no explanation on what the topic or cause of this meeting is in regards to.
