The City of Gering acquired a piece of real estate during a special council meeting Thursday afternoon... But it wasn't the much debated McKinley School.
Westco donated nearly two acres of land to the city yesterday afternoon.
The property is behind the old Jirdon agri-chemical property near the 10th street railroad crossing.
Westco had no use for the property and needed to do something to receive a tax deduction before the end of the fiscal year.
Gering Mayor Ed Mayo says he does not know what the city will use the property for at this point.
