There are fun ways for families to stay fit and a local organization is doing their part to help out.
The Scottsbluff YMCA is participating in National Healthy Kids Day next weekend at the Trails West Camp, behind the Zoo.
There will be multiple booths that promote ideas for fun and healthy lifestyles.
The Nebraska Freemason's will have a booth where parents can have their child's DNA and fingerprints stored in case of an emergency.
YMCA Fitness Director, Lola Gonzales says, "It's a chip program, ok, a child identification program...how important is it for people....it's free to everyone but we only have I think 300 packets."
The event is free to the public this Saturday from 9-2 at Trails West.
