A rural Alliance teenager is charged for leaving a bomb threat note at Alliance High School.
The note indicated there was a bomb in the school and requested that everyone leave the school before 11:30 a.m. Officers with the Alliance Police Department and Alliance Volunteer Fire Department responded to investigate.
The school was not evacuated because a suspect was developed immediately and it appeared to be a hoax.
The suspected writer of the note was interviewed and subsequently arrested. After a search of the suspect's locker and vehicle, the school resumed normal activity at about 11:10 a.m.
Brandon R. Stites, age 18, of rural Alliance was booked into the Box Butte County Jail and a report has been forwarded to the Box Butte County Attorney's Office who is going to charge Stites with one count of Threatening To Use Explosives, a Class 4 felony.
