NSP investigating body found in Sioux County canal

Police are investigating the discovery of a body in the Pathfinder Irrigation Canal.

On Monday night the Nebraska State Patrol received a call from a passerby about a body in the canal.

Today the body was identified as 49-year-old Joseph Salazar of Torrington. Salazar's wife had reported her husband missing earlier that day.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death as the investigation continues.
