Young area musicians will get their chance to shine as they share the stage with an elite brass ensemble tonight.
Select musicians from Bluffs Middle School began practicing with the members of "Presidio Brass" for tonight's performance.
The band will play "Sounds of Cinema", a performance that connects exciting Jazz and Classical music used in movies.
This is the kickoff for the Midwest Theater's 2012 and 2013 Performing Arts Series.
Theater Manager Billy Estes hopes that tonight's performance inspires these young musicians to continue a career in the arts.
"If one of the kids that gets to have interaction with them today goes on and plays whatever particular instrument that they're playing in college and finds that even if it's a lifelong love for music and this inspires them to play, we've done our mission as an organization."
Tickets are still available for tonight's 7:30 PM performance and can be purchased at the theater's box office starting at 6:00 PM.
