Boat ramps in Valentine to get face lift

A Panhandle recreation area will get a facelift this week.

Several boat ramps in the Valentine National Wildlife Refuge will get some much needed improvements.

The concrete ramps will be upgraded at Hackberry, Clear, West Long and Pelican Lakes plus the Game and Parks Department will add steel docks along side the existing ramps.

All the lakes will still be accessible for visitors during the construction.

The upgrades are expected to be finished in November.
