Families in the Panhandle walk to bring awareness to one cause, AIDS.
The 12th Annual AIDS Walk was created to let people know there's quality treatment in the area for those with HIV.
The event also raises money to keep the Nebraska Aids Project on its feet.
Jill Young with the Nebraska AIDS Project, says it's crucial to get the word out.
"The Nebraska AIDS Project focuses on helping Panhandle families who are living with HIV so it's very important for folks to know good services exist and of course it requires us to do fundraisers to make sure it stays open, but we provide a lot of advocacy and services for anyone living with HIV."
Following the event, walkers got the chance to win prizes donated by local businesses.
