Crews ready to leave Region 23 complex fire site

The 86-thousand acre Region 23 Complex Fire in Dawes County is 100 percent contained, and crews are ready to call it quits.

Firefighters have just about completed mop-up efforts, and hot spots from Sunday's nights incident report are being extinguished Monday throughout the day.

Rehabilitation continues on dozer and road grader firelines that were put in place when suppression efforts were at its peak.

The downgraded Type III Incident Management Team that was on site since Wednesday has also began demob efforts.
