4 local firefighters are in CO for the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

Posted: Updated:

Four Scottsbluff firefighters are stepping up to honor and remember the events and people lost on September eleventh.

Scottsbluff firefighters Justin Houstoun, Anthony Murphy, Nathan Parrish and Jonathan Brumley are in Colorado for the September 11th Memorial Stair Climb.

The firefighters will climb the 110 stories, equivalent to the height of the World Trade Center's Towers...in full gear.

Scottsbluff Fire Department Public Information officer, Justin Houstoun says they have been running stairs at bearcat stadium for two months to prepare for the climb.

Scottsbluff Fire Department Captain, Dan Hobbs says, "Well we had 4 guys from our department go down there for the 9/11 stair climb and it's important because it's a national issue. It's not just something that happened in new york. It's something that everybody nationally remembers and the guys from our department just wanted to get involved with that a little bit."

The climb will take place tomorrow at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado.
