Volunteers are helping prep thousands of rubber ducks for their voyage down the North Platte River this weekend.
Volunteers from the University of Nebraska Medical Center helped the United Way number 20,000 rubber ducks by hand for this weekend's rubber duck dash.
United Way special events chair, Jeana Allen says all the helping hands provide a big boost this year.
All the ducks will be tagged with new numbers for this year's race.
Allen says, "This is a huge job & it's a very important part of the race because we want to make sure every person who buys a duck has a duck in the race."
The United Way has sold more than 9,000 ducks so far and hopes to double the number of ducks sold by race day.
