Republican Deb Fischer and Democrat Bob Kerrey will meet in a third debate for U.S. Senate that will be broadcast on statewide public television, radio and online.
Nebraska Educational Telecommunications says the candidates will square off at 7 p.m. on Oct. 1 in a debate hosted by NET News at NET Television studios in Lincoln.
Fischer and Kerrey are seeking to fill the seat that will open after the retirement of Democrat Ben Nelson.
Kerrey is looking to return to the U.S. Senate after leaving office in 2001. Fischer is a Nebraska state senator from rural Valentine.
The two participated in their first debate on Aug. 25 at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island. Their second debate is set for Sept. 28 in Omaha.
