Panhandle assisted living residents have a shot at finding their inner artist, as part of National Assisted Living Week.
Local artist Tiffany Schank treats the residents at The Village at Regional West to an art lesson.
Each student receives their own set of oil paints and canvas plus hands-on instruction to create a high-plains landscape.
Schank says no one is ever too old to paint. "and being creative is kind of....gets you thinking about things in a different way and exercising your brain."
Village resident Charlie Brown says he really enjoys getting to try new activities. "Well living here is an experience....we're well taken care of and people are treated nicely and the result is everybody get a shot to do something new and interesting."
Staff at the village say the art class is a good way to get residents up and out of their rooms.
