Harvest Festival underway in Gering

The 16th annual Harvest Festival kicks off at the Farm and Ranch Museum in Gering today.

This year, dry beans are the featured crop, and people got the opportunity to go out to the fields to watch the farmers harvesting.

Some of this years attractions include tractor and horse exhibits, a parade, dry bean cutting, and plenty of children's activities.

The event draws thousands of visitors from the panhandle and surrounding states.

The Harvest Festival is unique because it gives people the chance to see how people farmed more than 100 years ago.

The Harvest Festival will continue tomorrow at the Farm and Ranch Museum, and should be a good time for all.
