Harvest Festival brings UNL Agriculture Educators

Posted: Updated:

The Harvest Festival isn't just about food, tractors, and farming.  It's also about educating the community about agricultural research.

The University of Nebraska Extension Center was out in full force this weekend to show off their research, as well as recruit.

This is the first year they are presenting at the Harvest Festival.

Traditionally, the ag experts stay on their home turf to present their findings.

This year, they teamed up with the Farm and Ranch Museum to reach out and have more interaction with the public.

"Normally, the university has an expo which is where all of our specialists and educators come together, and we try to present some of the research that we've been doing throughout the year. This year we did something different and we joined up with the farm and ranch museum."

Johnson adds if this year proves to be a success, educators from the college will be back next year.
