The aftermath of a major forest fire has forest the temporary closure of a visitor attraction in the northern panhandle.
The Hudson-Meng Bison Kill Research and Visitor center will be closed for rehabilitation following the Region 23 fire.
District rangers say the site's bone bed enclosure did not have direct damage, but staff does have concerns related to the fire.
They say Hudson-Meng will re-open when it is back to the world class level that visitors have come to expect over the years.
Nearby Toadstool Geological Park, however, will remain open in the wake of the massive forest fire that scorched more than 80-thousand acres earlier this month.
