Posted: Updated:

The family of a California man who disappeared from an Amtrak train between Denver and Chicago search for him in Nebraska.

The man's daughter, Jen Dowd Says the conductor last spoke with 69- year- old Charlie Dowd in Eastern Nebraska and said the man was disoriented and confused.

Family members and volunteers started to hang missing posters in Nebraska hoping someone will recognize him.

"He's a character- my dad's a character. If people have seen him in Nebraska, in Omaha, along the train route I feel that they would remember. And the more they see his picture- we also started a facebook page- find Charlie Dowd... I think people would remember him."

Anyone with any information about Dowd's whereabouts should call Amtrak Police at 1-800- 331-0008 or the Dowd family at 650-766-6470.
