Union Pacific reminding hunters to stay off railroad property

Hunting near railroad tracks is illegal in Nebraska. That's why a local company wants to get the word out before hunting season gets underway.

People may be tempted to hunt along or near tracks because wildlife tend to migrate and feed near them.

Omaha based Union Pacific Railroad warns that trespassers can be fined, arrested, and jailed if they are found hunting on railroad property.

Nationwide, more than 400 people were killed and 361 were injured while trespassing on railroad property last year.
