The final costs of a fire that ravaged parts of Dawes County have been tallied and submitted for reimbursement.
The West Ash Fire that burned from late August until September 9th is estimated to cost Dawes County more than $64,000.
Road Superintendent Larry Hankin says the fire required 853 man hours, 267 equipment hours, and 16–hundred vehicle miles.
Hankin says he is not sure if the reimbursement will come from state or federal agencies.
He also doesn't know if Dawes County will qualify for funding to repair the roads that were damaged due to heavy vehicle traffic as crews worked the fire.
