Nebraska's median income grows in new census report

Posted: Updated:

According to a new census report, Nebraska is one of just 13 states and the District of Columbia to see a bump in median income between 2010 and 2011.

The report finds Nebraska's median income grew 1.1%, to just over $50,000.

University of Nebraska staff member David Drozd says the state's strong agriculture industry helps Nebraskans withstand the economic uncertainty.

Low unemployment rates also helped boost income.
