Posted: Updated:

Sentencing is delayed for a Scottsbluff man guilty of sexually assaulting an 8 -year - old girl.

District judge Leo Dobrovolny wants to see the results of a mental evaluation he ordered for 54-year- old Daniel Castillo before he sentences him. Those results should be in sometime in December.

In August, Castillo was found guilty of third-degree sexual assault for performing a sexual act on an 8-year-old girl.

Castillo claims he's innocent. During his trial he maintained that he was sleeping in the same bed as the girl and accidentally committed the act while dreaming.
