A company new to the Scottsbluff area is just about ready to start production on their jerky.
KYS Foods Owners and all of the people involved in their relocation from California to the Panhandle joined to celebrate the completed project.
The plant will produce Asian-style jerky using Nebraska-grown beef and pork.
KYS Foods owner, KaiYen Mai says she hopes to stay in Western Nebraska for the long haul.
Mai says, "So I really hope that we find a great...community of people that will work for us and be great for here and also for our company I really hope we don't have to move and just stay here for a long time and grow with the community."
Mai says they hope to start production in the next week or two.
