Man thought to have fallen off train found dead in Nebraska

A missing California man who disappeared from an Amtrak train is found dead in Nebraska.

69-year-old retired firefighter Charlie Dowd's body was spotted yesterday evening by a railway worker near Haigler, Nebraska.

Dowd was last seen September 13th on a Chicago-bound Amtrak train.

Investigators think he might have fallen off the train.

In a statement on the family's Facebook page, relatives say they're devastated but thankful to those who helped search.
