The sunflower harvest isn't looking too sunny this year.
With the summer heat and no moisture coming in, most crops are suffering.
The dry land crops have the most reduced yields and for sunflowers the harvest is about over.
Jim Schild a University of Nebraska Extension Educator says without the usual wet summer season, there's less usable crops.
"The dry land crops, sunflowers and some of those crops are dry land with the extreme heat we had this summer, the dry land crops are quite a bit below average."
Schild says some areas out east are almost a complete wreck.
