A Gering man found that it pays to remember family members' birthdays, as he hits a $75,000 Nebraska Lottery Pick Five winning ticket.
Morris Duyck has been playing the same numbers- mostly family members birthdays- for the past twenty years.
Yesterday Duyck matched all five numbers, to win $75,000 or $52,000 after taxes.
He plans to use the winnings to help pay bills, as well as getting his wife a new vehicle. "She's been wanting one for like, 15 years," explains Duyck, "So I figure she was due. She works hard down there."
Despite hitting it big last night, Duyck says he has no plans to stop playing "Pick Five" and already purchased tickets for tonight's drawing.
Lottery officials also say that a $10,000 Powerball winning ticket was sold at the U-Save Mart in Morrill.
