Scottsbluff High School Junior Terrisita Klemm has been chosen as the first place winner in the 6th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Essay Contest sponsored by the State of Nebraska Latino American Commission. The contest topic was An Inspiration Leader that Promotes Hispanics and their culture: A Champion! The judges received 192 essay submissions statewide and were inspired by Klemm's story on Mrs. Pat Sulu.
Terrisita will receive a congratulatory letter in the mail and an invitation to be recognized by the First Lady Sally Ganem on October 5, 2012 at the State Capitol in Lincoln, NE and read her winning essay at the 6th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month State Commemoration to an audience made up of students, educators, city leaders, community leaders and government representatives.
