Nebraska's sole candidate for the 2014 gubernatorial race says he welcomes competition.
Currently, Lieutenant Governor Rick Sheehy is the only person officially running for Governor Dave Heineman's seat.
But Speaker of the Legislature Mike Flood has been candidly talking about the possibility of entering the race.
During a Thursday press conference, Sheehy says he is sure there will be more candidates, and welcomes primaries.
"The only thing I know I can do is control what I do," Sheehy told reporters. "I can't control what other people do. My focus is still to do my best job. I 'm sure potentially there will be several people- I don't know who will or who won't get in."
Democratic State Senator Steve Lathrop is also considering throwing his hat in the ring.
