Remember how popular the Harry Potter book series was?
What you may not know, is it's on the banned book list.
This week celebrates the 30th Anniversary of "Banned Book Week."
Books can be banned for various reasons, if their deemed offensive, insensitive, anti family or sexually explicit.
Many titles banned are the some of the most popular books like "Twilight" and the "Hunger Games."
Many of these books still occupy libraries and school shelf's though.
Library Director Abby Yellman says they participate as anti-censorship advocates.
"That is basically a celebration of the freedom to read. The idea that people can seek out and express any idea they want no matter how unorthodox it might be."
Yellman says the readers should be able to read the books for themselves and make their own opinions.
