Police have apprehended a driver who led them on a high speed pursuit north of Minatare.

According to reports, the driver reached speeds of 90 miles per hour during the chase that started shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The suspect totaled his car near the area of county road 32 and county road "N" around 11:30. The suspect then fled on foot before officers could apprehend 36-year-old Shawn Stacy.

The chase lasted approximately 30 minutes.

Officers say Stacy ran causing them to chase and arrest him.

Officer Kevin Spencer says they brought dogs out to the scene for a good reason.

"To look for whatever he threw out. The dogs trained in evidence recovery so he can go out there and if there's something out there he should be able to find it."

Stacy has a lengthy criminal record, including prior drug felonies, and an active warrant out for his arrest.
