It's the home stretch for the candidates running for Nebraska's U.S. Senate seat.
Republican Deb Fischer and Democratic opponent Bob Kerrey square off with their final debate last night before the November election.
Each candidate had criticisms of the other and promises were made to voters.
Kerrey said, "We have to push beyond the rhetoric, these slogans and ask the question - what's the impact on Nebraska of the Fischer plant."
Fischer said, "We need to cut spending and we can do that. We can cut spending and balance this budget."
Entering the debate, polls show Fischer with the lead.
