People who live in Wyoming may soon have to pay a little more at the pump.
Governor Matt Mead says it's appropriate to consider raising the state fuels tax to help fix and maintain roads but he doesn't think now is the right time.
Mead also says the state should make sure it's spending money on roads efficiently before considering raising the tax.
The state legislature gave initial approval to raise the fuels tax by 10 cents and registration fees by $10.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation says it needs $135 million more annually just to maintain the current road system.
