House fire on 4th ave. displaces five

A house fire in Scottsbluff rekindled this afternoon.

The basement fire started around 10 this morning.

A few hours after the fire was thought to be out, the fire rekindled thanks to a strong wind.

The Scottsbluff Fire Department asked Gering Firefighters for help.

The firemen used an aerial truck to create roof ventilation, however the fire caused extensive damage to the home.

The five people living in the home were not injured.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
