Yesterday's flames reignited early Thursday morning at a scottsbluff home.
Crews with the Scottsbluff Fire Department were called out to a Fourth Avenue home for the second time in 24 hours. Embers burning in the attic caused the fire to start back up.
Fire Chief Dana miller says crews have spent close to nine hours extinguishing the fire.
"It started in the basement and was due to some improper wiring that was in the basement- which overloaded and caught some wood on fire and some joyces on fire, and that started the room on fire."
The Twombley family, who resides at the home, lost countless belongings in the fire.
Pat Twombley says she and her husband were home at the time ... and recount the scary moments that followed. "We could smell smoke and he headed for the basement," explains Twombley. "And there was already fire in the basement. And it went so fast... So fast."
Pat says the clothes on their back is all they have to wear.
