Scottsbluff native killed in farming accident

A piece of farm equipment claims the life of a former Scottsbluff farmer, near Geneva.

58-year-old James Gabel was measuring a test plot when him combine backed over him Tuesday.

The Scottsbluff High School graduate farmed north of town from 1975 until 1985, when his family moved east.

Funeral services will take place Saturday morning in Grand Island.
