Three new hires will join the staff at the University of Nebraska Extension Center in Scottsbluff in the near future.
Extension Director Linda Boeckner says that two vacancies and a new position have been approved by the university.
Specialists for "water resource utilization" and "dryland cropping" will be hired to fill the vacancies.
While a new "forage and grassland ecology specialist" has been green-lit as the new position.
Dr. Boeckner says the new additions will go a long way for the Scottsbluff branch.
"At the panhandle research and extension center we work in teams. We work in interdisciplinary teams, and so having additional individuals to fill a very specific role on those teams is going to be helpful."
The university is already putting together search committees to start the hiring process.
