Nebraska Senator Picked To Honor Veterans

A Nebraska Senator collaborates with leaders on capital hill to honor a piece of American history.

Senator Chuck Hagel has been picked by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta to lead an advisory committee for the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.

The committee will provide vision and advice to people across the nation.

The group will also help to organize a program to preserve the legacy of Vietnam veterans.

Hagel is a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Nebraska Senate from 1997 to 2009.
