Nebraska Public Power District warns customers of scam

Posted: Updated:

Nebraskan's may receive a phone call survey from people claiming to be the Nebraska Public Power District.

The N.P.P.D wants to warn people and businesses about a phone survey that is a scam.

The survey callers identify themselves as representing N.P.P.D and ask the customer's opinion about payment options and request bank account information.

The N.P.P.D says they're not conducting any survey asking for this information.

In September the district did a survey of it's customers regarding opinions on future sources of electric generation in Nebraska, but that survey is over and didn't ask for personal information.

The N.P.P.D cautions customers to not give personal or bank account information, and if you receive a call they ask you immediately hang up.
