The Lied Scottsbluff Public Library is getting a landscape makeover.
The Scottsbluff City Council moved $50,000 from its Contingency Fund to pay for the library's landscaping project.
The project includes underground irrigation, turf and lighting for security reasons.
City Manager Rick Kuckkahn says the basic landscaping is being completed so the library doesn't have an unfinished look anymore.
"The obvious concern is that when you've got a huge area of weeds that's not conducive to a well kept community. And of course the library and council was very interested in seeing that spruced up.
Kuckkahn says if additional ideas like a pavilion are suggested the council will look at them and assess.
